How Do You Manually Eject A Dvd From A Dvd Player?

February 6th, 2010 admin Leave a comment Go to comments

I have a Daewoo VHS/DVD player. The dvd is stuck in the player and continues to read loading but does nothing. I tried to eject the dvd with the button and with the remote but does not work. Is there a way to manually eject the dvd?

DVD Drives have a tiny pinhole, which you can push an unfolded paperclip through. You might try looking to see if your dvd player has one. It will probably be on the front of the disc tray, or very close. Unfold a paperclip, and push it through to eject the disc.

If there is, try looking for an eject button on the DVD player.

On computer DVD (& CD) drives, there is a pinhole at one corner of the tray that forces an Eject. Why they don’t do that on standalone units is beyond me. But they don’t. Maybe because it’s easy enough to unscrew and remove the cabinet from standalone units.
If it’s a standalone unit, try unplugging it from the wall power for about 10 minutes to give the microprocessor a chance to reset. That might be your sole problem. If that doesn’t work, your only other method is to remove the cover to retrieve your DVD. And your player will probably cost more to repair than to replace it.
